Maisie is one of those dogs that makes you smile from the moment you meet her! Friendly, forward, and full of flavor! This girl knows how to make an entrance! She greets new friends like she’s the hostess of the party, tail wagging, feet prancing, and energy buzzing with excitement! Her approach may be bold at first, but once she settles in, Maisie shows a thoughtful side that’s mindful of boundaries and respectful of her friend’s space! We believe Maisie is a pittie mix of some sort around 1 year old and weighs approximately 25 pounds. She is pocket sized perfection! Due to her being a rescue, age and breed cannot be guaranteed, they are our best guesses. But that’s what makes rescue so exciting! You never know the combination of the sweet pup you have decided to save! Check out Maisie here: https://youtu.be/OZwOEfpn1uU Maisie is the kind of pup who’ll give it her all in a burst of zoomies, and then sprawl out with a happy sigh! Her stamina is low, but her joy is high! After just a few rounds of play in the yard with some of our higher energy dogs, she was content to lounge in the house and enjoy our company. She is very dog friendly and would do best in a home with another medium energy dog that could join her in a round of play then easily go inside to rest! Maisie is so excited about everyone and life! Including kitties! It would be best if Maisie lived in a home with no kitties in order to maintain the peace of the household. We understand that not all kitties appreciate the thrill of life as much as Maisie does LOL. Maisie is eager to learn about all the beauties of indoor living! She loved observing all of the cool things at our rescue! Ceiling fans? Confusing. Toys? INCREDIBLE! I have never seen a dog as happy as Maisie when toys were introduced to her. For the rest of her visit, she was occupied with all of the different choices we gave her to play with! I can definitely see her thriving in a family that loves to surprise her with a new toy occasionally! Maisie didn’t meet any kiddos when she was with us, but she was very friendly with the staff! We believe that she would do well in a household with older dog savvy kids that understood how to properly enrich a pup like Maisie and can be okay with excited greetings from her. If there is a certain age that you are curious how she behaves around, let us know and we would be happy to find out for you! We want to make sure she is perfect for your family! As far as the ideal home for Maisie, a space that will allow her to get her energy out daily is ideal! Whether that be a home with a yard or an active apartment residing owner. As long as she gets her zoomies and cuddles in, Maisie is going to be the happiest girl in the world! Maisie is amazing! Does she sound like your ideal girl? Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
