My story

Miss Thang A17609939 lb. spayed female, approx 2 years old -Miss Thang is oh so very sweet!-She was very nervous outside with the lawn company mowing the grounds. Standing frozen and shaking a little. So in we went!-Inside she was way more relaxed. Although still some initial nerves, she slowly let it all go!-I sat down on the floor and she immediately came to me….enjoying pets and ear scratches…Her tail slowly wagging the whole time. -When she was finally a little bit more comfortable, she settled onto my lap and stretched out across my legs and gave me her belly. Once I started petting her belly her tail started wagging harder.-Then came the kisses-She is absolutely food motivated! She’s still working on “sit” and “easy” with the treats. She’s a hungry girl. She is however picking it up already.-She doesn’t have any interest in playing with toys currently-She walks well on leash-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper introsUnknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids•Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
