🍯 Foster Home Needed for Sweet Mama Honey & Her Newborn Pups 🐶💔We need a miracle for a mama who deserves the world.Honey came into the shelter visibly pregnant, alongside a sweet young male pup named Oat (possibly the dad). We didn’t think she was due quite yet… but one morning, we walked in to find Honey had given birth overnight—right there in her kennel. Oat was by her side, and heartbreakingly, one of the pups didn’t make it. 💔Since then, she’s been moved to a quieter area, and this mama is doing everything she can to care for her babies. She’s a FANTASTIC mom—nurturing, protective, and attentive. But she’s also stressed. She barks when other dogs get too close, which is totally understandable for a mom trying to keep her newborns safe in a noisy shelter.✨ She loves people—genuinely loves them. Friendly, sweet, trusting. She just needs a safe place to rest and raise her babies in peace. The pups were born 7/8, and their little eyes just opened this week. They’re chunky, curious, and growing fast—but the shelter is no place for babies. They need warmth, softness, and love. And Honey needs a break. It is gut-wrenching to see her still in the shelter after more than 2 weeks of doing everything right. She’s given all she has to her puppies—can someone give her just a little in return?🛏️ We’re looking for:A quiet foster homeNo other pets for now (just to keep everyone safe and reduce Honey’s stress)Someone willing to give this beautiful family the calm environment they need to growPlease, if you have space in your home (and your heart), Honey and her pups are waiting. 💛📩 Reach out if you’re willing to foster or want to learn more. Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. We are open intake, meaning we can not turn away animals from either county we serve. Our shelter intakes double or triple it's capacity every month so it is essential we place animals quickly into adoptive homes. Since so many animals enter the shelter we often don't have enough volunteers to write an individual bio for each. Please feel free to call the shelter Wednesday-Sunday to inquire about the animal you are interested in. 706-795-2868.Viewing and adoption hours at our shelter are Wednesday through Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM. All adoption fees include age-appropriate vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming, and spay or neuter, microchip, and adoption packet. Fees:Dogs over 6 months old: $100Puppies under 6 months: $200.
