Helen

My story

Helen is a strikingly beautiful young mother. For the first period of her life she was surviving on her own, on the streets. A good samaritan began feeding her and created a safe environment for her to sleep when she visited. Not knowing how much prior contact Helen had with humans (and if it was positive or not), her caregiver gave her space to see what her comfort level was. However, after a little while she noticed that Helen was pregnant and called us for our help. Helen was taken to the vet and then sent to her foster home to prepare for her upcoming labor and delivery. Turns out we got her just in time - Helen gave birth to three perfect babies the next evening in the safety and comfort of her new foster home. Helen was the absolute best mom ever. Even now that her babies are over two months old, she still dotes on them and simply closes her eyes in exasperation when they gang up on her in their normal routine of wild kitten play - they find so much joy in using their poor, loving mom as a jungle gym. Helen is still apprehensive about trusting humans. She went from living on her own, straight into depths of protective mama mode. She hasn't quite learned that she can relax and calmly enjoy a life of being adored. She runs to her foster mom in greeting, purring and happy to see her, but she still is obviously jumpy and untrusting of new people, new noises and sudden movements. Her foster mom is convinced that once her babies have left the nest (gotten adopted) she will start to relax and learn to trust quickly. The desire to be loved is definitely there. Her kittens are still with her as of today, but we expect them to be adopted soon, so we will update her bio as she progresses. Helen is a rare, unique collection of several different coat patterns - including dilute torti, orange tabby and grey tabby. You have to see her in person to fully realize how gorgeous she is.
