My story

Serena arrived at the shelter on July 4th, 2025, after being found late at night near Robbins and Ditman Streets. Her finder described her as calm and friendly. Since arriving at the shelter, Serena has been showing off her playful and affectionate side. She’s a brindle beauty who enjoys butt rubs, zoomies, and laying in the grass for a good back scratch. While she sometimes jumps up with excitement, she responds well to leash handling and redirection. Serena has a curious and social energy, and she takes treats gently. She also recently participated in a playgroup session and showed a rough-and-rowdy play style with other dogs—confident, spirited, and full of life. Videos: Serena says hello: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/xtF6DbBDXAU?feature=shared Serena, Nyla, Bullzeye, coco beans: https://youtube.com/shorts/WOjXajnjC5Q?feature=share Behavioral Notes Volunteer notes 7/9: Serena was standing calmly in her kennel and step forward when I leashed her. She pulled a little to exit the shelter and placed her front paws on my waist 2-3x as we walked. While in the large dog run, Serena did 2 big zoomies and came over to me with 1-2 jumps directly in front of me. I grabbed her leash and shortened it, and she stopped jumping and her energy level reduced. Serena took to the dirt and grass a few times for some back rubs while in the run. She did not sit on command or show evidence of paw knowledge. She took treats wry nicely. Her big head and white teeth are gorgeous. Serena stepped into her kennel on her own and had no issues with over the head leash removal. 07/09/2025 Playgroup notes: Steerable, curious, got very playful, rough/rowdy 07/04/2025 jumps suddenly but nice and loves butt rubs Medical Notes 07/04/2025 – Vaccinated with Rabvac 1 (Rabies), Duramune Max 5 (DHPP), and Bronchi-Shield III (Bordetella, Adenovirus, Parainfluenza). 07/04/2025 – Topical treatment with Imidacloprid and Moxidectin. 07/04/2025 – Physical exam completed. No microchip found, intact female, 45.5 lbs, good overall health. Next due for all vaccines: 07/04/2026. ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia.
