Sir rufus

My story

Meet Sir Rufus! Sir Rufus is a mixed breed. He is 3yrs old, approximately 10lbs, current on vaccinations, Heartworm Negative & crate trained. He will be neutered & microchipped before going to his furever home. His foster is still working on his house training and he is getting there. Sir Rufus is another dog that came from our most recent hoarding case. He does have issues with resource guarding (food, toys and sometimes people). That is something that is manageable and can be worked on with a trainer in his new home. (APAWS will provide trainer and training recommendations to adopter) However, because he has shown he has those issues, we absolutely will not put him in a home with kids or a home where we will be around kids frequently. He likes to be around other calm dogs, not dogs that are super active. Puppy/hyper behavior makes him nervous. He knows kennel, inside, outside, treat & is working on learning more. He likes following around his foster mom and the calm dogs in his foster home. He is very much under your feet so he can be a tripping hazard as well. Sir Rufus is a huge fan of snuggling and being held. His furever home will need to understand that he requires regular grooming (Every 6-8 weeks).
