My story

Meet Willie! Willie is a 10–12-year-old Shih Tzu with a heart of gold and a gentle soul that will melt yours. This sweet senior may need a little time to warm up, but once he does, he’ll be your most devoted companion — always ready for snuggles, belly rubs, and love.   Willie spent over a decade in a loving home in West Virginia. But when his beloved human dad passed away, everything changed. His mom, heartbroken, said she couldn’t keep him because it was too painful. Willie ended up living outside in a kennel — until Peyton’s Place Animal Rescue stepped in and brought him to safety in New Jersey. Now in a foster home, he’s rediscovering what it means to be loved and cared for.   Willie thrives on attention and adores being with his people. He enjoys leisurely walks and soaking up the sun — especially if he can do it while curled up on your lap.   He’s neutered, up to date on vaccines, and ready to spend his golden years surrounded by warmth, comfort, and kindness.
