My story

What my friends at ACC say about me:My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!It is unknown if I have ever lived with other animals or children.I would do best in a home with only adult humans.I prefer to call the shots and enjoy coming to you when I'm ready for pets.I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.A volunteer writes: This big bouncy puppy is Indiana Bones. He greets me by jumping up and solicits attention the same way. I guide him back down before petting him, and as long as he stays on all fours, gets all the back scratches and pets he wants. He expresses his delight by leaning in and wiggling around with a happy, waggy tail. When I sat on the bench, he ran up me and nestled his head between my knees, calmly standing there, his tail swishing back and forth, as he enjoyed chin, cheek, and ear rubs. He tried sticking his nose in my pocket of treats, but I directed him away before giving him some. After running off some energy, getting his fill of attention and snacks, and perhaps starting to understand that great things come when he doesn't jump up, Indiana was calmer returning to the shelter, not jumping up once.We don't know Indiana' history with other dogs, but when the shelter introduced him to two unfamiliar dogs on separate occasions, he reacted nicely to them. Since no one has taught him basic manners, his new family should be prepared to provide basic training. But he's young, very social and friendly, and highly treat-motived, all of which bode well for success.
