But Jerry survived, and now he’s learning that he doesn’t have to fight for affection anymore — that it can be his and his alone. He’s a tiny boy at just 6.2 lbs, and with that little body comes a gentle but sensitive heart. He does wonderfully with children and even gets along with cats, but when it comes to other dogs, he tends to get jealous and protective of his person. For that reason, we recommend Jerry as an only pet, where he can truly shine and receive undivided love. He's fully pee pad trained, calm and well-behaved at home, but does get nervous around adult men — something we believe stems from his past. He never shows aggression, just a bit of fear, and he blossoms most in a quiet, patient home with someone who will move at his pace. Jerry is not just a rescue — he's a survivor with a soft soul, ready to love deeply and be loved right back.
