Sarah the Pug Chihuahua mix Hi, my name is Sarah and I have quite a story to tell for one so young. I am only a year or so old, but had some bad things happen already. First off, I was picked up by animal control in a neighboring town, but that wasn’t the worst part. They were pretty nice, and they noticed that I couldn’t use one of my back legs. My left one to be precise. Anyhow, I was given to God’s Dogs Rescue and my foster mom took me to the dog-tor to get some x-rays to see what was going on. That wasn’t very much fun because they found that I had a broken pelvis from side to side and front to back. And if that wasn’t enough, I had my left leg out of the hip socket. It appeared that I and a vehicle of some sort had a disagreement, and I lost! What a bummer! I spent the next month being confined and on pain meds to see if my broken pelvis would heal. And it healed very nicely, thank heavens. Then, I saw the dog-tor again and they did surgery to fix my left hip so that I could be able to walk on all fours again. I was put back on restrictions for another month, waiting for this to heal. FINALLY!! I have been released by the dog-tor to look for my furever home!! I am fully healed, and everything works as it should. Because of all the restrictions, I am a little shy with people, because I have had a lot of pain dealing with people recently, and I am getting used to being touched without being poked or prodded or given meds, etc. So please give me a little time. I get along well with other dogs and even cats. I have been potty trained to puppy pads during my confinements but now love to go outside to do the deed. I am not fully trained to go outside yet but I am getting there. If you have a little buddy for me to play with, all the better! I am learning how to walk with a harness and a leash and that is interesting so far. I seem to do more hiding and running than walking like I should, but at 6 pounds, it is easier for foster mom to carry me and that is not so bad. If you can give me a furever home, I am ready! $200 In State Adoption Fee (in Texas) $400 Out of State Fee (includes Transportation to your area) $50 Temporary fuel surcharge.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sarah GC, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
