Sally Sunshine is quite literally a ray of sunshine! The moment she sees you, her entire face lights up, and when you leave the room, she’ll wait patiently, dreaming about the moment you walk back in. She bonds deeply and quickly, and if you’re the kind of person who wants a best friend who truly adores you, Sally might just be your soulmate! During her visit, Sally impressed everyone with her gentle nature and easygoing charm. She’s a petite size! Making her the perfect fit for curling up on the couch without taking up the whole thing! She’ll rest her head in your lap with the kind of contentment that makes your heart melt. And when you’re handing out affection? Oh, Sally’s first in line. We believe Sally is a lab mix of some sort around 1 years old and weighs approximately 25 pounds! Due to her being a rescue, age and breed cannot be guaranteed! But the reward of rescue far outweighs anything else! Check out Sally here: https://youtu.be/NElpmx6Re_8 She’s got lovely manners and walks nicely on a leash! She even strutted right past another dog during her visit with us with grace and confidence. Sally isn’t the rough-and-tumble type, she’ll happily run around and play a bit with a dog friend, but when she’s done, she knows how to take a polite break. She is dog friendly and would do best in a home with a friendly, medium-energy pup who understands her rhythm and gives her space when she needs it. Sally does love her people a lot! And because of that, she’ll do best in a home (not an apartment) where she has a yard to explore and where someone is around often. She’s not noisy, but when she’s left alone too long, she’ll make sure her feelings are known. She simply thrives when she’s near the people she loves most. When it comes to kids, she loved hanging out with our friends Kobe (4) and Elijah (11). Sally seems to have a soft spot for older, gentler children who can understand her sensitive spirit. During her visit, she was sweet and calm with the adults and slowly grew more confident with each moment. Loud, chaotic energy isn’t her favorite, but in a peaceful home, she’ll absolutely shine. We also learned she’s a curious observer when it comes to cats! She was so interested in sniffing and cautiously investigating our housecat, Biggie! A dog-savvy feline who minds their own business would likely be a fine roommate. With a little time and proper introductions, we think she could happily coexist. Sally Sunshine is just that, a little ray of joy in a dog’s body! She’s affectionate, cuddly, sweet as can be, and brings light wherever she goes. She may not be the loudest or wildest pup at the party, but she’ll quietly follow you through every chapter of life with devotion and love. Let us know what kind of home you’re dreaming of in a pup! We’re happy to help make sure Sally is the perfect match for you! Does Sally sound like your Sunshine? Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
