Duke Jackson

My story

Duke Jackson is an 8 year old Boston Terrier that weighs about 21lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and on heart worm prevention. Duke is all Boston! He’s an active Boston who loves walks, toys, his crate, mealtime, and so much more!  Duke is an early riser, so it’s the perfect time to take him for an AM walk before it gets too hot, but like a true Boston, he loves to sunbathe too. Duke does great on a leash on walks or casual strolls. At first, he can be a little anxious around some dogs on walks and bark, but he will settle down. He is crate trained and house trained. He does get a little obsessive of his toys and would play 24/7 if you let him, but he is learning “all done” means it’s time to rest. He currently takes trazodone as needed to help him settle down while he learns his new routine, but we believe this could be weened off as he adjusts to life in his new furever home.  His first couple weeks in foster he was with another Boston and did fine but was much more playful than the other boston, so would do best in a house with another high energy BT that can keep up or as solo dog in the house. Because of his energy level, we recommend a home without children. He has some mildly elevated liver and kidney labs, so we recommend checking those at least once a year to make sure they are staying consistent.  Duke is spunky, funny, cute, and of course a little stubborn - all of the ingredients of a great Boston terrier companion!
