My story

  Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Lorelai finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Lorelai – 2-Year-Old Australian Cattle Dog with a Heart Full of Cuddles Meet Lorelai, a 2-year-old Australian Cattle Dog who’s equal parts adventurer, cuddlebug, and loyal best friend.  At about 40 pounds, she’s the perfect medium-sized sidekick for all of life’s adventures—and the snuggles afterward. Lorelai is a sweet, playful girl who loves exploring the world with her people. She’ll happily chase a tennis ball (for a little while—then she’d rather curl up next to you). Loud noises or big crowds can make her feel a bit nervous, but with patience and gentle reassurance, she settles right down. She’s already crate-trained (though she may whine a bit when you leave—she just loves you that much) and is almost fully house-trained, with just the occasional accident as she continues learning. This smart cookie is working on her leash manners—she can pull a bit if she feels overwhelmed, but she’s making great progress. When meeting new people, especially tall men, she may bark at first, but with calm introductions and a few head scratches, she warms right up. Favorite things: Small stuffed toys to carry around Tennis balls to chase (for a few rounds!) Kong toys stuffed with treats Long walks in quieter spots ALL the love and affection Lorelai is a gentle soul who absolutely thrives on connection. She’s happiest when she feels secure and included, so a home that offers lots of affection and consistent reassurance is a must. She would likely enjoy having a friendly dog companion to help boost her confidence. Her Ideal Home: A calm, loving environment with moderate daily exercise A family ready to continue her training with patience and positive reinforcement Possibly another friendly dog buddy Someone who will shower her with cuddles and help her feel safe Lorelai has so much love to give and is ready to find her person (or people) who will adore her gentle, snuggly spirit. Apply today—Lorelai is waiting!   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
