My story

Ghost has a gentle presence with a calm and quiet charm. When volunteers visit, he’s often found sitting politely at the front of his kennel, accepting treats like a perfect gentleman. Ghost may be hard of hearing, but that hasn’t stopped him from connecting with those who move at his pace. He seems to appreciate calm energy and a respectful approach, and while he may get a little excited during transitions, he’s never shown anything but friendliness toward his human friends. This sweet boy is waiting for the right person to notice his soft spirit and give him the safe, loving home he deserves. Come meet Ghost at ACCT Philly, open daily from 10 am to 6 pm - you might just be the one he’s been waiting for. BEHAVIOR 07/12/2025 volunteer notes: met Ghost in his kennel, he was sitting at the front quietly and we shared a few treats. Listed as staff only so I was unable to take him out, but he presents as a very calm, relaxed boy. 07/07/2025 staff notes: Was walking him to kennel, he was pulling hard on his leash but no major issues. Panting, appeared stressed, but friendly with me. When we got to his kennel, he was reluctant to enter but followed me in. I had to put a water bucket in his kennel, so was trying to call him over to the far side of kennel and drop the guillotine door; however, Ghost did not react to me calling to him loudly, nor did he hear me open the kennel door. Possibly is deaf/hard of hearing since he showed no reaction to these sounds (didn't even look my way or perk his ears up). I went back around to the side of the kennel he was on, and he had paws up on the kennel door barking at another dog across from him. I leashed him and he immediately pushed out of kennel. After placing the water bucket, an ACA came over to help me get Ghost back in his kennel as he was thrashing and would not re-enter on his own. We had to lift him back in, and he was trying to push his way out while we unleashed him and closed the door. Was not aggressive with us and allowed me to pick him up and put him in kennel, but was just trying to get out.
