My story

Hey there, humans! I’m Shermy! (Short for Sherminator, obviously. Total heartthrob. Very mysterious.) I’m an 11-month-old Staffy/Pit mix, weighing in at a perfectly portable 29 pounds of pure charm. I’m like the “fun-size” candy bar of dogs—small enough to fit in your car, big enough to fill your heart. Let’s get the basics out of the way: I’m friendly. Like, “excuse me while I climb into your lap and give you a thousand kisses” friendly. I’ve got some pretty good manners too—I’m not out here causing chaos (unless I’m left alone with a squeaky toy… then all bets are off). Do I like other animals? Nobody really knows. I might be cool with ‘em, I might not. It’s one of life’s great mysteries, like why squirrels taunt me from trees. Do I walk well on a leash? Also a bit of a mystery. I mean, probably? I’ve got legs, and I like using them. Seems promising. Basically, I’m a happy, affectionate little dude just looking for someone who appreciates a good snuggle, the occasional zoomie, and my award-winning “puppy dog eyes.” So if you’re in the market for a compact companion with a big personality and a heart of gold, come meet me. No obligation, but it reserves your place in line on the list. The shelter will contact individuals as they appear on the list. Ask about adoption transportation assistance if you do not live in the local area. The adoption fee is $95 and you receive certificates for $50 towards spay/neuter and $10 towards rabies vaccine if not already done. All dogs are heartworm tested, receive a DHLPP, flea and tick treatment, a bordetella vaccination and are dewormed.
