My story

Meet Debbie! This beautiful black dog with her expressive brown eyes and floppy ears is as lovely as her looks suggest. Debbie is a sweet, playful, and affectionate companion who thrives when she’s with her people. She’s crate trained (just say “Kennel!”), and loves curling up in her crate with a cozy blanket for nesting. She knows several commands like “Come,” “Down,” and “Off,” and she’s eager to please—especially when there’s a treat, toy, or belly rub involved. This energetic girl loves to play ball, sprint around the yard, and chase her dog friends at the park. While fetch isn’t quite her thing (she’s more of a “chase it and celebrate” kind of player), she’ll happily keep the game going for as long as you’re willing. She also enjoys walks and exploring the outdoors, followed by a well-earned nap in the sunshine. Debbie is happiest when she’s close to her people. She’s spent lots of time at home with her foster working nearby, and she loves being part of the daily routine. She would do well in a home where she can get companionship during the day or enjoy playtime and affection after work. She’s a big fan of plush squeaky toys, tug-of-war ropes, Benebones, and good old-fashioned ear and back scratches.
