My story

Hi, I’m Ellijay! I was born in February 2025 in Gilbert, AZ, and came to Valley Dogs Rescue with my siblings. We’re now enjoying the good life in our foster home, getting lots of love, playtime, and cozy naps! I’m currently around 20 pounds, and my foster mom thinks I’ll grow to be about 45–50 pounds—just the right size for cuddling on the couch or joining you on adventures. I’m a Labrador and Staffordshire Terrier mix with a sweet, playful spirit and a big heart. I’m learning my manners like how to sit and stay, and I’ve already figured out how to use the doggie door (as long as I’m nearby). I love to play, explore, and spend quality time with my humans. Since I’m still a puppy, I’ll need continued training to help me grow into the best dog I can be! A home with a yard and daily exercise are a must! When I go to my forever home, I’ll come with all the essentials: food, bowls, toys, a leash, collar, harness, a comfy bed, and some yummy treats. I get along great with other dogs and, while I haven’t met any cats yet, I think I’d do just fine with them too.
