My story

Meet Mae — a.k.a. Turkey Mae! 🦃🐾 This sweet, spunky 1-year-old mixed breed beauty is ready to leave her past behind and step into a bright new future—with you! Mae was rescued from a tough situation in the Charleston area earlier this spring. Since then, she’s blossomed into an energetic, intelligent, and affectionate young pup who’s loving the chance to just be a dog. She’s about 50 pounds with a gorgeous black and brindle coat, is fully vaccinated, spayed, heartworm negative, and potty trained. Mae has also received obedience training and already knows some basic commands—she’s a smart girl who’s eager to learn more! Mae is very active and playful. She loves going on walks, playing fetch, exploring new places, and would thrive with someone who enjoys outdoor adventures. She does great on leash and is curious about everything around her—your next hiking or beach buddy, perhaps? While she absolutely adores people and builds strong bonds, Mae is still learning how to interact with other dogs. Because of this, we believe she’ll do best as the only pet in a home with a secure yard where she can run and play freely. If you work from home, Mae will be your perfect office companion—she’s already proven she can be a calm and comforting presence during the workday. Mae has been through a lot in her short life, but she’s resilient, full of love, and ready for a forever home where she can be your loyal sidekick, adventure buddy, and best friend.
