I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog Adoption:18Alfalfa – The Gentle Gentleman with a Heartwarming Calmness Meet Alfalfa, a 4-year-old Pit Bull Terrier with soft eyes, a tender spirit, and a tail that wags with quiet joy. With his blocky head, mellow energy, and a deep appreciation for affection, he’s the kind of dog who brings calm comfort wherever he goes. Manners & charm: Alfalfa sits politely for treats and may even offer an auto-sit when he’s feeling extra connected. He takes treats with a gentle mouth and a grateful look. Leash pro: This boy is an absolute dream to walk—calm, steady, and responsive. While he may pull toward other dogs, he’s easily redirected with a squeaky toy or a cue. Affectionate companion: Call his name and he’ll come right over, wagging softly. He leans into your hand for shoulder rubs, resting his head gently on your knees with a sweet tilt as if to say, “Don’t stop.” Curious & observant: Alfalfa enjoys a good sniff around the yard and takes in the world at a peaceful, thoughtful pace.
