My story

Doris is a brave little survivor with a big personality! She was rescued from a warehouse where she and her mom were living off stolen cat food—resourceful and clever from the very beginning.   When she first arrived in foster care, Doris was full of sass and spice, but with patience (and plenty of treats), she’s starting to let her sweet side show. This snack-loving girl is extremely food motivated and is learning that humans aren’t so bad—especially the ones with toys and tasty bites!   Doris is still working on trusting people fully, but she’s making wonderful progress every day. She’s not a lap cat yet, but she’s curious, playful, and open to love on her own terms. With the right adopter who can give her time and space to blossom, Doris has the potential to become a truly loyal companion.   She gets along great with other cats and would do best in a quiet home with a patient adopter (and maybe a confident kitty friend to show her the ropes). She’s never been around dogs or small children, so a calm environment is ideal.   If you’re looking to help a shy kitten grow into her confidence and want a quirky, snack-loving sidekick, Doris might just be your perfect match!  Doris was born around April 25, 2025, and is currently being fostered in Prospect. Once she is fixed, up-to-date on shots, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV at the beginning of August, she will be ready for adoption. All of our cats and kittens are cared for in loving foster homes. "Meet and Greets" can be arranged only after an application has been submitted and approved.
