My story

Hello there! My name is Rafa 2, and I am a beautiful 2-year-old girl with a heart of gold and a captivating blend of Retriever, Collie, and Cattle Dog. My stunning coat is a mix of warm golden and soft tan, complemented by a striking black muzzle, adorable black tips on my ears, and the cutest little chin hairs that give me so much character.I have spent half of my young life in the shelter and on the Rez, which made me quite scared and anxious. But thanks to the wonderful people who moved me into a foster home, I have started to learn that the world is not so scary after all. I have become much more comfortable with time, and my true, sweet personality is slowly blossoming.I will be honest — I am a bit shy at first. Men and boys tend to make me the most nervous, but I am also a little timid around new women. Because of this, I will need a family who is extremely patient and understanding, and who is willing to give me the time and space I need to feel safe and loved.The good news is, I am already potty trained and crate trained! This means I am ready to settle into my new home with ease. I get along wonderfully with the resident dogs in my foster home — they have helped me feel more secure, and I would absolutely thrive in a home with other calm, friendly dogs. However, I am also quite content to be the only furry princess in your life if that is what suits you best. While I love being with my people, I also cherish my alone time and enjoy relaxing in my crate with the door open, knowing I can come and go as I please.My ideal adopter would probably be an older, mellow person or couple. Someone who is dedicated to spending a lot of quality time with me, and who will continue to help me build confidence and overcome my anxieties.
