Kodiak (Kodi for short) is an 11-week-old Malamute-Husky mix who is the perfect mix of gentle and tough. This playful pup enjoys adventuring through the yard, playing with other dogs and people, and rolling over for all the belly rubs you've got! He’s becoming braver every day and loves exploring the yard, watching his people splash in the pool, and diving into toy time or puppy wrestling sessions. Kodiak will need a fenced yard in his future home to meet his enrichment needs. When he’s ready to rest, he’ll seek out a cool, comfy spot to cuddle up or stretch out in peace.Kodiak and his siblings settled into their foster home quickly and are doing great with early training. He’s pen-trained, uses pee pads indoors, and will go potty outside. He’s used to being crated for car rides and goes in and out of open crates at home. He’s eager to learn, especially with extra encouragement and treats! He's generally peaceful, but he has found his voice and will use it for the occasional howl. Because of this, he cannot live in a home with shared walls (no apartments/townhomes).He gets along well with other dogs and can often be found leading his sibling pack. He loves to play the role of big brother! He leads the way with his brothers and then lets his little sister cuddle up to him in the pen. He would benefit from having a well-mannered resident dog in his forever home to help guide him as he continues working on puppy manners, especially reducing mouthy behavior. He enjoys playing with dog-savvy kids, and he hasn’t been tested with cats.Kodiak is scheduled to be neutered on July 19 and will be ready to head to his forever home shortly after. If you’re looking for an affectionate, adventurous pup who will happily be your outdoor sidekick, Kodiak could be the one for you!If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $550.
