My story

** $1,070 in pledges for the rescue that pulls ** Creed ACCT-A-219650 is a 5-month-old dog who was brought in as a stray by an Animal protection officer on 5/7. Medical: Per an exam on 5/10: “XR: The proximal left ulna is thickened, likely representing callous formation. The medullary cavity of the corresponding area is sclerotic. There is visible mineralized bone detached from the cortex of this area, likely representing a previous fracture. The olecranon has not yet fused: this could be secondary to age, but a type 1 SH fracture cannot be ruled out. The proximal left radius appears to be missing cortical bone, and there is a thickened area of cortical bone of the radius distal to this site, potentially representing bone remodeling secondary to a previous greenstick fracture. There is significant soft tissue swelling of the antebrachium as well as surrounding the appreciable distal humerus. The left elbow has visible osteophytosis. The left distal hindlimb has significant soft tissue edema. The left tibial crest is not fused, but a tibial crest avulsion is not suspected based on patient age. The left distal tibia shows medullary sclerosis, and given the soft tissue swelling surrounding the tarsus, a compression type SH fracture of the distal tibial physis cannot be ruled out. Assessment: -Previous fracture(s) of the left ulna +/- radius with possible residual osteomyelitis of the radius -Possible previous SH compression type fracture of the left distal tibial physis -Possible avulsed or SH type fracture of the left olecranon process -Osteophytosis of the left elbow could indicate dysplasia or OA -Patient has multiple orthopedic issues, but is ambulatory and appears relatively comfortable. It is unclear how these issues will affect patient's ambulation long-term, but given age, chance of rapid remodeling could be beneficial. On 5/9 Rectal Prolapse repair: "Rectal prolapse was reduced and anal purse string suture placed with absorbable suture." On 5/7 staff noted: "Addendum to Nurse Triage exam:Rectal prolapse- tissue looks healthy for the most part with a few slightly darker areas. Swelling of L forelimb mainly around elbow, swelling of L hind limb, mainly around tarsus. He is not limping but limbs are warm to the touch and L hind feels edematous while L front is firmer. Scarring which is likely from bite wounds is present.Assessment:Radiograph of L hind shows no obvious Fx(unable to get DP view). Radiographs of L forelimb show older avulsion/chip type fracturing of ulna with what may be some remodeling. Rads need to be fully assessed by Dr.Even with granulated sugar application and pain meds, Pt strains against any attempt to resolve prolapse so unable to reduce ATT.He is sweet and tolerant!" Per exam on 5/7 staff noted: “Bright, alert, responsive with rectal prolapse. Swelling present on the front and hind left limbs along with healing cuts from suspected bite wounds. His temp was 102.3 but was taken axillary. Ears are dirty with brown debris present. Coat was dirty, pressure sores on elbows, healing wounds present on left front and left hind limbs. Very sweet and friendly, loves to be pet and wants to be a lap dog, allowed all handling.” Videos: Meet timestamped Creed: https://youtube.com/shorts/nScTzDo_-jw?si=rcswW5vA93x0Jb8E ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week. Please visit www.acctphilly.org/adopt for details. If you are a rescue interested in pulling this animal, please email our lifesaving team, or visit here if you are not currently a rescue partner: https://acctphilly.org/acct-philly-love-local-partnership-program/ Confirmed placement is considered a confirmation of an actual rescue pull. Possible placement, interested parties, and other "TBD" statuses are not considered confirmed and do not indicate an animal is no longer urgent. All animals at ACCT Philly are from Philadelphia, as the only open-intake animal shelter in Philadelphia, we are not able to accept animals from outside of Philadelphia. ACCT Philly's Pennsylvania kennel license number is 08313.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Creed, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
