Rocko

My story

Rocko is a sweet senior gentleman who’s showing everyone just how wonderful and loving older dogs can be. He’s easy to leash and walks at a nice, leisurely pace—perfect for strolls around the neighborhood or quiet yard time. Once outside, Rocko enjoys sniffing around and taking in the world at his own calm rhythm. At first, Rocko may seem a bit reserved, but kneel down and you’ll see his affectionate side come to life. He’ll walk right over, tail wagging, ready for some gentle pets—and if you’re lucky, he might even sneak in a few kisses! Once he feels comfortable, Rocko is all about connection and closeness, happily soaking up your love and attention.This sweet boy seems to be housebroken and clearly enjoys being with someone. Rocko may be a senior, but he still has so much love to give and would make a gentle, loyal companion to anyone looking for a calm and affectionate friend. Rocko also is very smart and knows a ton of commands – sit, down and paw to just name a few!Rocko is an adventurous and sweet pup who recently got to enjoy not one, but two exciting Dog’s Day Out adventures—and he made the most of every minute! On one trip, Rocko hit the trails for a fun hike followed by a well-deserved ice cream treat. He loved exploring the outdoors, taking in all the sights and smells, and was described as relaxed, curious, and a great leash walker. While he’s still getting used to car rides, he’s already making progress—and with a little more practice, he’ll be cruising comfortably in no time.On another outing, Rocko visited Honeygo Park and made a stop at Starbucks for a pup cup, which he absolutely adored! The volunteer who took him out described him as gentle, sweet, and well-mannered. He also knows basic commands and was happy to show them off.Rocko prefers gentle playmates, and would like to meet any potential dog roommates to be sure they are a good match.I`m a VIP because I`m still learning, and the shelter can be a tough place for dogs like me to shine. But I’ve got a whole team cheering me on!Here are a few things the staff and volunteers are helping me with:• Learning to make the right dog friends at the right pace• Building confidence when I`m scaredIf you`re patient and open-hearted, I could be your best friend.
