My story

How this pet arrived: Jemma was brought in by a community member on June 24, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Jemma, a sweet and sensitive pup who came to us as a stray, so her past is a bit of a mystery. She can be cautious around new people and needs time and patience to warm up, but treats are the way to her heart. Jemma prefers gentle interactions (no hugs, please) and appreciates when people ask for her consent before petting. She already knows "sit" and has enjoyed friendly playdates with other dogs here, though we don't know if she's lived with one before. Once she feels safe, her playful, bouncy side shines through, complete with happy wiggles and a love for toys. She can also get a bit jumpy in her excitement, so she'll need an adopter who can help her channel that energy into positive, appropriate outlets while building her confidence. Jemma is looking for an experienced and understanding adopter (with no young kids, please) who can help her feel secure and let her personality blossom.
