My story

ALL ABOUT ME  Name: Bono Age: Around 5 years old Gender: male Spayed/Neutered: Yes Breed: Terrier mix Colour: White Weight: 20kg Microchipped: Yes   MY RESCUE STORY Hi there! I’m Bono — a gentle soul with a big heart and a story that’s just beginning its happy chapter. I was rescued from a city pound, and while I’m not quite sure how I ended up there, I do know one thing for sure: I’m so grateful for my second chance. Thanks to some kind-hearted humans who believed in me, I’m now safe, hopeful, and ready to find a forever family to call my own.   MY HEALTH Fully vaccinated (5-round series complete) I’ve been spayed and have no known health issues.   MY PERSONALITY I’m a sweet boy with a gentle heart. I might be a little shy when we first meet, but offer me a few tasty treats and some kind words, and you’ll start to see my soft side peek through. Even though I’m a bit reserved at first, I’ll let you gently pet me — and with a little time (usually just a few days to a week), I’ll truly open up. Once that trust is built, I’ll quietly follow you around like your loyal little shadow. Volunteers and staff often say I look like a giant teddy bear — and I like to think I live up to the name! While I may allow you to pick me up once we’ve built a bond, I prefer to keep all four paws on the ground for now. When it comes to other dogs, I’m easygoing and polite. I enjoy greeting new canine friends, but I’m more of a calm observer than a rough-and-tumble playmate. I like to do my own thing and take the world in at my own pace. MY SOCIAL SKILLS With People: I’m a shy and reserved boy when meeting new people, but don’t let that fool you — beneath my quiet demeanor is a gentle, affectionate heart just waiting to connect. I may need a little time and space to feel truly comfortable, but with patience, kindness, and a soft voice, I’ll begin to trust you. Once I feel safe, I’ll happily lean in for gentle pets and show you the sweet, loyal side I’ve been keeping tucked away.   I haven’t had much experience around children yet, but with slow, respectful introductions, I believe I could become a loving and protective member of a family — especially one that understands my need for a calm, peaceful environment. I’m incredibly well-mannered at mealtimes and never guard my food from people.   Even though I’m shy, I’m calm, respectful, and not reactive. I just need someone who’s willing to give me the time I need to bloom. With a little love and patience, I know I’ll become a devoted companion who brings quiet joy to your days.   With Dogs:  I enjoy meeting new dog friends, but I’m not one to jump straight into play — I prefer to take things slow and get a good feel for my new pals first. What can I say? I’m more of an introvert than an extrovert. I thrive in peaceful company and like to keep to myself when things get a little too lively. If another dog gets pushy or rude, I don’t get upset — I simply walk away and stay calm. High-energy dogs can overwhelm me, so I feel most comfortable around fellow gentle, laid-back pups.   When I do find a friend I really like, I’ll happily play for a while, but then I’ll need some quiet resting time to recharge. I’m also very polite when it comes to sharing — I don’t guard my food and am happy to peacefully coexist with my furry friends.   With Cats:  I haven’t met any cats yet, but with a slow and thoughtful introduction, I think I could learn to live peacefully with a feline friend.   ENERGY AND ACTIVITIES I have a low, calm energy and am a true introvert at heart. I’m not one for chaos or constant activity — I’d much rather curl up on a cozy blanket and enjoy the quiet comforts of home. You could say I’m a certified couch potato, and I wear that title proudly! Snuggling is one of my favorite pastimes, and nothing makes me happier than being close to my humans in a calm, peaceful space. If you’re looking for a mellow companion to share slow mornings and quiet evenings, I just might be your perfect match. TRAINING & HABITS I’m still learning my leash manners and sometimes get a little excited to explore, so I might pull a bit when something catches my interest. But overall, I do my best to follow my handler’s lead and walk nicely. I’m a quiet pup who rarely barks, and I’ve mastered the art of resting calmly in my kennel. I usually prefer to do my potty business outdoors and like to keep my living space neat and tidy. Clean and peaceful—that’s my style!   MY IDEAL HOME I’m looking for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that offers a safe, structured, and calm environment. A family that enjoys spending quality time together indoors & outdoors. A family that can shower me with love and attention. A loving family who understands my shy nature and is ready to patiently and gently guide me as I grow into a confident, happy companion. A home with another calm, confident dog sibling – but not an absolute requirement   SPECIAL NOTES Volunteers and staff often say I’m a sweet boy with a touch of elegance. Don’t be fooled by my initial shyness — once I’ve had a chance to explore at my own pace for an hour or two, I’ll happily accept gentle pets and follow you around out of curiosity. When I first arrive in a new home, I might be a bit hesitant to eat as I adjust to my surroundings, but with a few days to a week of patience and gentle encouragement, I’ll fully open up. I’m shy but far from fussy — my calm, gentle nature and low energy make me the perfect quiet, snuggly companion. If you’re looking for a loyal friend who thrives in a peaceful environment, I might just be the one for you! ##2455785##
