My story

Meet Nala, an 8-year-old Labrador Retriever who came to Big Dog Ranch from a breeder in South Dakota. After years without the comfort of a true home, she’s now ready for the chance to experience life as a beloved family member. Because of her background, Nala would do best with an adopter who has prior experience with dogs—especially the Labrador breed—and understands how to help her continue building confidence. With a moderate energy level, Nala enjoys daily walks and does well on a leash. She’s still working on her basic commands, but she’s eager to learn and will thrive with positive, consistent guidance. She gets along well with other dogs, is housetrained, and once she feels safe, she becomes a loving, cuddly companion. Nala also enjoys playing with toys and will happily join in for some fun. With patience, understanding, and affection, she’s sure to blossom into a loyal and devoted companion!
