My story

Meet Sweet Sammy!   Sammy is a deeply loving and sweet, sensitive soul who just needs a little time (and patience) to feel safe. Whatever has happened in his past he is slowly overcoming in the company of dedicated humans. Once he trusts you, he loves BIG — the kind of loyal, heart-melting love that makes all the difference. He tends to bond more quickly with women but is fine with a man in his life.  We know that he will bond there as well with time.  This 2 year old, 70 pound boy thrives in calm, consistent environments. He would do best with someone who understands that nervous pups just need a little extra kindness to shine.   The Great Pyr breed has cautious traits that makes them observers and thinkers that are accessing life situations all the time.  He is big but not huge.  He has energy to burn and would love a home with a big fenced yard or access to space where he can run and stretch those legs while supervised! He does need a secure fence or to be kept on a lead — he’s a bit of an explorer and will take off if given the chance (but don’t worry, he always comes back).  This is the Great Pyr in him.  His DNA is hard to deny and the urgings to explore will always be there.  Coming back is a good thing that he does.   Sammy is housebroken and has great potential.  He has a few habits that we will reveal so you can be proactive.  He has a love for chewing! Shoes and remote controls.   What does doesn't?????  He’ll need a home that’s ready to puppy-proof and redirect. &#239&#184&#143 Sammy also enjoys quiet hideaways like under beds and finds comfort in cozy corners. Once he connects with you, he’ll be your loyal shadow.  Sammy isn’t perfect — but that’s what makes him so special. He’s looking for someone who sees past the reserved nerves and into the huge heart underneath.   Who wouldn't love looking at this handsome boy and his wonderful face every day??? Could that someone be you?    Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and tell us where you live.  City and state.  We transport from Nashville, TN to the northeast if you are not in Tennessee.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 10, 2025, 5:13 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt SWEET SAMMY, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
