Bentley

My story

Bentley is a 4-5 year old Maltese mix who came to us when his human dad passed away. He did live with other small dogs and is currently fostered with other dogs. Cats are unknown. We've learned so far that he may be best suited in a home with no other dogs or just one other dog. When he seeks affection, he always wants to be next to his foster mom. He does seem to get a bit overwhelmed and anxious. He can be a bit "growly" with the other dogs when he feels uncomfortable, but they are all growing on one another. He is quiet, timid, charming and curious. He does take awhile to warm up and does best when people are slow and cautious in their movements. We did have his brother, Benny, earlier this year who exhibited the same behaviors, and once in his permanent home, he warmed up very quickly. We are believe Bentley will do the same as he continues to progress each day. Loud noises such as thunder and fireworks frighten him. He does love belly rubs and cuddling on the couch. His foster mom is working with him on becoming used to a harness. Because he hasn't allowed her to put it on yet to go outside to potty, he is using pee pads and is a very good boy!
