Hero

My story

Hero is a gentle, soft-eyed 3-year-old boy whose name fits him perfectly, even if he doesn’t quite know it yet. Shy around new people and the busy world, Hero needs a little extra time to feel safe, but once he’s comfortable, he transforms into the sweetest companion you could ever ask for, following you around with quiet loyalty and seeking out soft pets and calm reassurance. He’s wonderful with other dogs and does well with cats, and he enjoys going on walks where he can quietly take in the world at his own pace, learning that there are good things around him even if they feel scary at first. We don’t know what Hero has been through before he came to us, but it’s clear he just wants love, patience, and a home where he can settle in and let his true loving self blossom fully. Hero needs someone who understands that he may take longer to trust than others, someone who will let him curl up in a safe corner until he’s ready, and who will celebrate every small moment of bravery he shows as he discovers that he is finally safe and loved. In the right home, Hero will be your quiet, steadfast shadow, offering gentle love and a heart that, once opened, will give you all the trust he has to give.
