Talbot here! Ready to report for best friend duty! I`m enjoying my time in a foster home, but a home of my own would be the dream life! My foster mom says I have the prettiest eyes and that`s part of why she couldn`t resist taking me in. I`m about 50 lbs right now, but I`m mid glow-up and need to put on some more weight. Treats are my absolute favorite thing, and you don`t have to worry about spoiling me with them - promise! Talbot arrived as a stray when he got into a backyard and either wouldn`t or couldn`t leave. He was very emaciated and needed medical attention. The vet team took great care of him, but he was very shy and sad at the shelter. So a foster home seemed like a good way to help him thrive. In just a few minutes after arriving in foster, he was happy, goofy, rolling in the grass and no sign of the dog he was described as in the shelter! He is estimated to be about 4 years old and still has a playful puppy energy. While he`s still gaining weight, it`s no wonder that his favorite toys involve puzzles and other dispensers of treats. But he also loves tug and really any toy offered to him. Talbot loves belly rubs and giving kisses. His foster suspects that `he must have had a home at some point, because he knows Sit and Shake, understands living in a home and what toys are (not all strays do). He has only had a few accidents, and always in the morning if I didn`t get to him in time. He can`t signal his need from the room he sleeps in, so I would guess he could be fully house trained in a home where that isn`t the case.`Talbot can be jumpy and mouthy in his play. He has a sweet and gentle soul, but until he`s better trained on this he would do better in a home without small kids. We have no info on how he does with cats. He was fearful at first with other dogs at the shelter, but enjoys running the fence line with neighbor dogs. Like all our adult dogs, Talbot will need to meet future canine companions before going home. Our shelter staff will lead their introductions in a safe environment to see if they are compatible. Talbot is occasionally a little shy at first with new people, but it doesn`t take long to change that. Especially if you offer him a treat (or five...).Talbot is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready for a loving forever home!
