My story

Where to even start with this frizzy frenzy of furry, personality? Miss Frizzle was brought in to a local shelter as a stray. She had a microchip, but the owners were not able to be located. The shelter was not able to properly examine her because she was scared and acting out, if you know what I mean. Upon meeting her after her stray hold, we saw no signs of belligerence, and she nearly jumped into our volunteer's arms! It seemed odd for her to be a stray because she was not dirty, except for infected ears, and looked to be recently groomed. Either way, Miss Frizzle got a spa day and was showing her playful personality within hours of being pulled into rescue. She is currently 9.4 lbs and seems to be in good body condition. She is more attention-motivated than food-motivated and just wants to be with people, ALL the time! She's only been in rescue a day, and we've learned that she gets along with children, dogs and cats. She is getting a major lesson in manners for jumping on people for that attention. She knows "sit" and "down" and is learning quickly that she must be in one of those positions to get her pets! She is curious and confident but can be vocal when she is away from people. She seems to be potty-trained and walks in zig-zags on a leash (more lessons pending). She loves to be held and will plop down against you with or without invitation. She is not thrilled about the crate, but will sleep in it all night without too much complaint. Miss Frizzle is high energy and can be a trip hazard because she follows you everywhere and bounces off of you if you let her! We're working on that. She will need daily walks to curb her enthusiasm! Est. DOB 7/1/2023 WE ONLY ADOPT LOCALLY WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs. If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. Adoption fee of $ covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip heartworm test and treatment if needed and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. We only do adoptions on Saturday and not all animals are able to attend so if you would like to see a specific animal please let us know so that we can make arrangements for it to be present at the event. Event locations do vary so please check the homepage to find out where we will be this week. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us to cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap so thank you for your understanding and helping us save as many as possible. Please email lowcountryanimalrescue@ymail.com for an application.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Miss Frizzle, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
