Frankie is a sweet boy.  He does like to play a little but can also chill with an older smaller dog to keep him company.  Frankie would not be a candidate for a home that does not have another smaller dog.  He would be too anxious. He gets along fine with male and female dogs his size and is ok with cats.  Our must haves for Frankie are: Fenced in yard Someone that could be home more than not or work from home Another young to adult small dog, male or female Cats if dog savvy but a dog to keep him company if you go out would be best No apartments, high rises or condos If you want to find out more about Frankie and if he would be a good fit for your home, then send us an email.  We’ll let you know all about Frankie but remember this has to be his last home.  ============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ============== AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten. If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form.  They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.  There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered.  We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states.  If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures.
