HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.---- Young, high-energy dog who prefers to be with his people and be in on the action - Likes playing with toys and chewing on bones; especially loves squeaky toys - Loves sticking his head out the window on car rides and letting his jowls flap in the wind - it's pretty funny - Has a hound voice and is not afraid to use it - Knows sit and likes to turn it into a down; also knows shake; still working on some manners, including keeping all four feet on the floor and checking out everything on countertops, so training classes might be great for him - Has been doing well with potty training in his foster home; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new schedule - Has done well in a crate during the day- May need a little time to settle into new environments but will be your best bud once he's comfortable - Foster family said he has been good with kids, but he has very long legs and can be bouncy; may do best in a home where everyone is big enough to handle his energy - Loves to play with his dog friends and has done well with dogs that have a similar play style - Foster family said he seems to leave cats alone; shows some curiosity but will will back down when the cats tell him to All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
