My story

Please contact Mamie Hall (mamie.hall@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.small sweetie seeking fresh start and love! PEANUT BRITTLE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Peanut Brittle        Best Guess for Breed: Chihuahua mix  Best Guess for Age:  1.5 years as of July 2025        SEX:   Male   Approximate Weight:   10.4 lbs   Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! We do not recommend him for a home with children under the age of 12.    Currently Living at:  Texas shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get on his freedom flight here!   Special adoption considerations:   Peanut Brittle is shy and needs to go to a home with a friendly resident dog who will show him the ropes.    Peanut Brittle is Looking For:  His fresh start! He landed in the shelter through no fault of his own and he's understandably confused and scared. He's seeking extra patient and loving adopters who understand that the world is a big place and Peanut Brittle is very small, and he needs time to settle in and build trust with his humans. A friendly resident dog will help show him that all is well and teach him how to dog in his new home!    Ultimately, what he wants is to trot through the world with the confidence of a well-loved pup who knows where he belongs and is safe and loved. And in exchange you get al his adoring gazes and loyal companionship - and you get to see his ears every day (and potentially, intercept the messages from outer space they must be receiving. Aren't they just amazing?!).  What My Foster Says About Me:  We will update this once he has spent time in foster care.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online   at   bit.ly/adoptaluckydog  .   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.   Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life!  Please visit us online at      www.luckydoganimalrescue.org   .    BE A FOSTER!!! Fosters make it possible for Lucky Dog Animal Rescue to save and care for homeless and abandoned dogs! To learn about fostering, please contact fostering@luckydoganimalrescue.org! BE A SPONSOR!!!! Sponsors help Lucky Dog support the many dogs we save. To learn more about sponsorship, please contact     info@luckydoganimalrescue.org   ! July 14, 2025, 10:27 am

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Peanut Brittle, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
