My story

Approximate Age: 3 year old Approximate Weight: 42 Lbs Meet Mojo! ● Great with kids, dogs, cats, horses, birds — probably just about every living thing ● Very smart and eager to learn — knows sit, stay, come, down, and paw ● Crate-trained — eats and sleeps in her crate, often walks in all on her own ● Calm, quiet, and affectionate — loves following her people from room to room ● Good on leash — minimal pulling, though she may circle you at times ● Tolerates baths well and is a champ with warm compresses ● Generally uninterested in toys, but enjoys a bit of play now and then ● Has a quirky fascination with cleaning robots and other small wheeled objects ● Loves to snuggle, give kisses, and just be near her humans Needs a little extra support with: ● Counter surfing and raiding the trash — she’s clever and determined when food is involved ● Separation anxiety — has shown impressive crate escapes when left alone too long Mojo is a sweet and loving companion who thrives in a home with company and structure. Mixed mutt! ODHS does not breed label (unless there's official paperwork), as studies show it is nearly impossible to tell the exact breed of each dog based off of their appearance. More "sought out breeds may have a higher adoption donation) Adoption donations are to be made via cash, or credit/debit card. There is a $5 fee to run cards. We do not accept checks for adoption fees. Please remember to bring a martingale collar and leash (non-retractable) with you the day of the adoption. We typically have adoption events on Weds 5-7pm, Fri 6-8pm, Sat 11am - 3pm, and Sun 11am - 1pm. Our adoption center is located at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Suite 101, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. It's important that you keep an eye on your emails for any changes or updates during the adoption process. Old Dominion Humane Society is a volunteer based organization. We are run completely by volunteers, who also have full time jobs, so we appreciate your patience. Currently, the average timeframe for a response to your application is 1 week.
