My story

If you can get past the initial silly excitement puppy nips, Bucky (Buchanan) is AMAZING! This kid is great with people, kids, and dogs. He can literally be and go anywhere with you! Flea markets, patio dining, crowded areas, hikes, jogs, anything, anywhere! Bucky says, “bring it on!” Named after Marvel superhero Buchanan (Bucky) Barnes, this Bucky is every bit as handsome as his human counterpart😊. Bucky is friendly, affectionate, easy going, and confident! Unlike his human counterpart, Bucky is never brooding, he is always happy! Bucky has an amazing recall. He comes every time you call his name. You must reward him with lots of hugs and ‘good boy’ when he comes. You can literally see him grin from ear to ear. He knows he has done a good deed and is so proud of himself. Sometimes, he randomly brings you a ball just so he can hear ‘good boy’ and get hugs. Oh yes, he knows how to play the game 😊 He doesn’t get upset when he has a toy in his mouth and another dog comes near him or tries to steal the toy. When you first put a leash on Bucky, he gets so excited he tries to grab the leash to walk himself. Maybe he thinks he can get to wherever he wants to get to faster if he walks himself 😊 . But it is only for a minute or two, then he lets go. We have learned that giving him a toy to hold in his mouth makes leashing and getting out the door so much easier! Bucky is 9 months old, 75lb Husky mix. He is looking for an active family who can give him a good balance of activities, training and snuggles! A family who understands he still has some puppy behaviors left in him. He needs time and patience from his family to help him sort out his puppy months and guide him into becoming the polished gentleman that we already see glimpses of! Right now, Bucy is just a puppy in an oversized body!
