It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes, and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old. KING KONG was living in a hoarding situation in Fontana, California. The couple had over 50 cats in their home. They got reported and turned in over 20 cats to the shelter. Then the husband left her with the rest of the cast. KING KONG was one of them, He is now ready for a true FUREVER home! Meet KING KONG, a majestic Maine Coon mix from Fontana, California, whose serene presence and giant heart are as legendary as his name. Draped in a luxurious coat and graced with a lion-like ruff, this gentle giant is the epitome of calm and cuddly charm. Don’t let the name fool you—KING KONG isn’t scaling skyscrapers; he’s scaling laps, purring away like a furry motorboat while soaking up all the love and attention you’re willing to give. KING KONG is an unapologetic cuddle bug. His absolute favorite pastime? Being doted on. Whether you're reading, relaxing, or binge-watching your favorite series, he'll happily be your fluffy shadow, stretching out beside you or curling into the coziest corner he can find. With a laid-back nature that could rival a Zen master, he’s more than content to simply exist in your space—quietly, peacefully, and always sweetly. He gets along well with other cats and would thrive in a feline-friendly household. KING KONG has had exposure to dogs but hasn’t quite figured out the harmony of living side by side with them just yet. For now, he’s happiest keeping his canine encounters brief and on his terms. He would do best in a calm, loving environment where he can unwind and continue blossoming into the affectionate companion he’s always wanted to be. Though his early days weren’t the easiest, KING KONG hasn’t let his past dim his light. His resilience is matched only by his tenderness, and he’s ready to swap old shadows for sunbeams, cozy blankets, and the kind of unconditional love he offers so freely. Are you ready to welcome this regal snuggle king into your life? KING KONG is a DOMESTIC LONG HAIR / MAINECOON TUXEDO MIX. He is 5 years 1 month old. He has lived with cats and does fine with them. He has lived with dogs but has not truly interacted with them. He has never been around children. KING KONG is currently at a foster home in San Bernardino, California. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. Go to Workinwhiskers.com (Click on ADOPT) 2. Fill Out Online Form 3. Submit Online Application 4. Someone Will Call / Text to Do Phone Interview 5. Will be notified of Approved Application 6. Home Visit (WILL BE SCHEDULED) 7. Official Meet and Greet with Kitty 8. Sign Adoption Contract 9. Pay Adoption Fee (VENMO - ZELLE - PAYPAL or CASH) 10. Take the Kitty Home ********* MAY CONSIDER OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS NEAR CALIFORNIA BUT BE AWARE THAT WE WILL NOT SHIP. ADOPTER WILL NEED TO PICK UP********** JULY 2025: VOLUNTEERS are the only ones allowed to let you meet the kitty. Not PETSMART employees. Volunteers are usually at PetSmart between 9 am to 1 pm for cleaning ONLY. The cats currently at PETSMART you are allowed to go visit. A good time to come visit is between 5 pm - 8 pm (Monday thru Saturday) and Sunday 3 pm - 6 pm. The VOLUNTEERS are only there in the evening for 3 hours so please call the PetSmart location, email us or visit the cattery for VISITING HOURS. Most days are different 3-hour shifts. It's based on volunteer availability and store hours. Store hours change with holidays. ******************* If you call the PETSMART location, please ask them to physically check the cattery door for the current week's VISITING HOURS. ****************** The kitties at foster/rescue homes, we will accommodate as much as possible. But steps 1-6 of the ADOPTION PROCESS need to be done before we do the OFFICIAL MEET & GREETS. It is easier to do the meet and greets at the locations listed below. PETSMART in City of Industry, California off Colima Road in Murrieta, California off Madison Avenue in Hemet, California off Florida Avenue in Palm Desert, California off Monterey Avenue The crazy rescue mama will drive kitties to their new home, meet & greets, etc...once the phone interview and home check have been done. Gas donations always appreciated! ************* Please no calls to the rescue. No one is available to take calls. ************ If the CAT/KITTEN is still listed (meaning here or other websites) they are still available. It does not mean they don't have other pending applications or meet and greets. Please note: Just because you fill out an application and are approved does not obligate you to adopt the cat/kitten. If he or she is not a fit...we have plenty of other cats / kittens available for adoption. We are a SMALL rescue based out of Hemet, California. We are all volunteers that run the rescue. If we haven't reached out....be patient. KING KONG is ALREADY fully vetted. The adoption fee of $250 covers: Neuter FVRCP shots RABIES shot FELV/FIV test (Negative/Negative) Drontal Dewormer Stronghold Flea Control Microchip We are NOT a government FUNDED shelter, and all our donations and adoption fees are for our rescued cats/kittens.
