My story

Meet our adorable and very playful girl named Shelly! We are estimating Shelly to be about 5 years old, and we think she is a Lhasa Apso mixed with some kind of Terrier. Shelly came to our shelter after she was found abandoned in a wooded area with her leash wrapped around a tree. She was very frightened when she first came to our shelter, but her personality bloomed once she knew she was safe with us. Shelly is going to take some time getting used to new people, but once she is comfortable with someone, she is a very friendly and outgoing girl! She is goofy, loves toys, and will do little zoomies when she is excited. Shelly also loves other dogs and we think she would do best in a home with another doggie buddy to show her the ropes. Shelly will need regular grooming for her entire life, as she has the type of coat that continuously grows. We are preferring she goes to a home with someone who has experience with dogs who need this care. We are also looking for a home that has experience with feisty small dogs. No first time dog owners please. We are most comfortable with her going in to an adult only home for now. If you are interested in adopting Shelly, Please Email us at Adopt@savingpawsct.org for an application! Her adoption fee is $75.00. PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL SPAM FOLDER! MAC IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK (M-F 8-4pm) (Sat-Sun 10-4pm) Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. Appts to meet dogs can made to suit your schedule, please email/call for an appt. We do prefer to be contacted by email for adoption inquiries at Adopt@savingpawsct.org. The office phone number is 203-235-4179. Leave a message, and someone will call you back promptly. PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL SPAM FOLDER! You must be 21 years of age to adopt with valid ID. There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal. Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. An approved application does not guarantee an adoption. We do not hold animals for meet and greet appointments. ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME. For more info please call 203-235-4179 (Always Leave A Message) or email adopt@savingpawsct.org

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Shelly! Playful Little Girl!, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
