My story

Meet Dinero! This handsome 3-year-old pup was surrendered by the only family he's ever known-they had him since he was a puppy but could no longer care for him. He arrived at the shelter with his companion Kashmere, and while we've learned a lot about him, some of his behaviors here differ a bit from what his previous family described.Dinero is an energetic, playful guy who gets excited when it's time to head outside. He may react a little when passing barking dogs in the kennel area, but once he's outdoors, he's a great walker and doesn't pull-unless, of course, a squirrel crosses his path! He's strong, active, and loves to jog, run, explore, and go on adventures. A fenced yard and an active person or family would be the perfect fit to help him burn off his energy. In the shelter, Dinero shows some nervousness being harnessed in his kennel, but he handles it with some patience and settles once outside. He's been friendly with male volunteers, even though his previous owners said he was "fearful of men". He has interacted with kids over 7 and did well, though his size and enthusiasm might be a bit much for very young children-he could accidentally knock them over.Dinero loves treats, knows how to sit, and keeps his kennel clean, so he's on the potty-trained list. He would thrive as the only pet-no other dogs, cats, or livestock for this guy. He also has a strong prey drive and will chase small animals, so a secure fence is a must (and he might try to jump it if something exciting catches his eye!).This lovable dog still needs some training and guidance, but he's eager to find a patient, fun-loving person who can keep up with his energy and help him thrive.See his green surrender form for more information from his previous owners.Come meet Dinero-your next jogging partner, trail buddy, and loyal best friend is waiting! If you're interested in learning more about Dinero, please reach out to our Volunteer Matchmakers at wcac.matchmaker@gmail.com with the subject line "Dinero 261508."Dinero is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be neutered prior to going home. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. Primary Color: Black Weight: 66 Age: 3yrs 2mths 0wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Dinero, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
