My story

My name is Macie, and I am the dog you have always wanted! I was abandoned with my two puppies in East Texas, and I was the best, most fiercely protective mama to them. However, once I knew they were safe with these nice Mutts people, I started learning to be the best dog. Being very smart and a fast learner, I watched my foster siblings and learned to go potty outside in only one day. The first time I walked on a leash, I was a little hesitant. By the third walk, I was prancing along and loving my walks! I stay in my crate at night, as long as everyone else is in a crate or in bed. I can be a little vocal if I think everyone else gets to be up and I don’t. I play very well with other dogs, and I even understand when “it’s not my turn.” I am learning to play with toys, and everyone laughs at my antics with my favorite colorful parrot! I currently live with some cat siblings, and I mostly get along well with them. Sometimes when they move really fast or get too close to my food bowl, I forget and bark at them. Remember, though, I am a fast learner, and my foster mom thinks I will co-exist well with cats in a very short time. One thing I am still learning is that it is okay to get all the pets and cuddles I want from my humans. Sometimes I will get very close to them but settle for just curling up on the floor near them. When they reassure me that they want to pet me, I move closer and revel in being loved and held and cuddled!Oh, a few details I am uncertain about. These Mutts people think I am probably about two years old and that I might be a heeler/border collie mix. But remember what we all know about me: I am smart and eager to please, and I am so excited to be loved by my forever family! Macie was born in 2023 and is being fostered in Fort Worth, Texas. All of our dogs are located in a foster home in Texas, Colorado, or Pennsylvania. Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Mutts N Such direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc).Our out of state adoption fee is $350 plus transport (varies by location). This fee includes all current vaccinations, deworming, a registered microchip, fecal analysis, spay/neuter for pets 6 months & older, and a heartworm test if over 6 months old. All dogs will be current on flea/heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days.
