Ella Mae is a total heart-stealer and she knows it! With her sleek, shiny black coat, soulful amber eyes, and confident shepherd stance, she carries herself like a queen who’s found her kingdom in every patch of grass she explores! She’s striking, yes, but it’s her gentle nature and soft affection that truly make her unforgettable. She absolutely adores human attention and affection and is looking for her family who wants to love her forever! We believe Ella is a shepherd mix of some sort around 3 years old and weighs approximately 70 pounds. Due to her being a rescue, age and breed cannot be guaranteed. But she is definitely a dog worth saving! Check out Ella Mae here:https://youtu.be/Sg6C2VO1iK4 Ella Mae is currently fostered with multiple dog siblings of all breeds, sizes, genders, and temperaments and is very used to the presence of fellow canines. When she enters a yard full of dogs, she has every chance to run wild with the pack, but more often than not, she chooses you! She’ll trot right past a game of chase to lean her head into your leg for love or offer sweet kisses when you kneel down to say hello! She enjoys the company of other dogs and has been respectful and friendly to all, but it’s clear: she’s a people’s dog through and through! If she were to have a doggy roommate, she would do best with a mature, medium energy dog who will allow her to have her space when she needs it. But she’s the kind who would thrive as your one-and-only princess, soaking up all the love and giving it right back in soft nuzzles and peanut butter-scented kisses. She’s already picked up a couple of commands, is an excellent car rider, and walks like a lady past other dogs on leash without any drama! What a catch! Although she hasn’t been around kids regularly, her foster has seen nothing but gentle affection and social ease in every human interaction. We’d be happy to help introduce her to children of any age to find Ella’s perfect family match! She’s even met our housecat, Biggie, and handled it with grace! Offering curious, respectful sniffs before politely moving on. We consider her to be cat tolerant and could be in a home with a dog savvy, low energy kittie who doesn’t mind a canine sibling! Ella Mae would love a home with a yard or property to stretch her legs, sniff the breeze, and sunbathe to her heart’s content. Apartment life likely isn’t her style. She loves to talk that shepherd talk and has opinions to share! She’s not just a shepherd in looks, she’s intelligent, loyal, and always aware of her surroundings, which makes her the ideal companion for someone who appreciates all the wonderful traits of the breed. Ella Mae is truly the whole package: affectionate, stunning, intuitive, and eager to love deeply. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend who is a professional cuddle bug and devoted to the core, she’s ready to start the rest of her life by your side! Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
