Sally is an adorable, 3 and a half year old, 10lb Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund mix). Sally may be small in size, but she is full of resilience and heart. This girl was found as a stray on the streets of Houston, TX, and ended up in a crowded shelter, terrified and trembling. One look at her intake video (you’ll see it on her listing!) shaking in her little boots and we knew we had to step in to rescue her. Now safe in a loving foster home, Sally is blossoming more each day. She’s quickly coming out of her shell and beginning to show her sweet, gentle personality. She also does great with her foster's dogs. It’s clear that the shelter was just a scary place for this sensitive soul, but being in a home she is much much more comfortable! Sally is a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. With positive reinforcement training, she has all the potential in the world to be a loyal, well-mannered adult companion. She’ll thrive with virtual or in-person force-free training classes, which will help strengthen her bond with her humans and build her confidence. Sally is up to date on her vaccinations and is spayed. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
