My story

What my friends at ACC say about me:Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy! What do you get when you cross a cat with a couch? A cat-potato! And that's me to a T!Mocha has made a lovely improvement since her first assessment. She woke up from her nap when spoken to and came forward and enjoyed all petting, arching her back with lower back petting and leaning in nicely for cheek rubs. She was calm when picked up and held and remained so when set back down. She's doing great and is a beautiful cat.Mocha interacts with the assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is suitable for any level of adopter experience.A volunteer writes: Progress can come in brilliant and bountiful leaps or it can come a little smaller in hard won increments. Both are cause for celebration and Mocha prefers her celebration to be on the low key and quiet side. We have this in common, which is exactly why I came with some small treats and soft conversation. Mocha was brought to us when her person could no longer care for her and we learned that she's very outgoing and friendly, just usually takes some time to warm up to new people. She reportedly plays very well with and is a big fan of other cats. Though more or less surrounded by cats now, it just isn't the same and Mocha has taken to napping in her cubby behind her bed in hopes the day will just pass her by. No one wants this for her, including Mocha, but Mocha has something on her side which is, of course, her progress. Mocha allows us to pet her and we know that glimmers of the beautiful kitty she is will continue to shine.Addendum:Mocha is waking up from her "sleep". She crawled toward me, yawned widely and started rolling on her side and head bunting me(see her second video). What a lovely gal I almost gave up on! This is a lesson for me. Mocha is all what her former owner was saying about her, an amazing loving kitty. Mocha is located at a bottom kennel where it is difficult to see her. It is so easy to overlook her and it would be such a pity to pass over a cat who really could be the one, the one who will bright up your life! Ask for Mocha when you visit us at the Manhattan Care Center! Primary Color: Tabby Weight: 9.2 Age: 6yrs 1mths 2wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Mocha, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
