You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › At only a year old, Charlie is full of life. He LOVES to play with toys, dogs, and even cats. His favorite toys are squeaky toys, or stuffed animals as large as he is that he can thrash around while he runs around the house. He may only be a quarter of the size of his foster siblings, but that doesn’t stop him from roughhousing from sun up to sun down. Charlie will absolutely need another dog in his forever home to show him the ropes and give him a much needed confidence boost. At this point Charlie is not able to be touched or held, but he has come so far since arriving to his foster home. Charlie originally would run away while pooping and peeing if a person entered the room, now he prefers to spend his downtime curled up for a nap, an arms distance away from his foster mom. Charlie loves to be part of the action now, and spends his days freely in the house. He has done a fantastic job potty training to pee pads, but still has a few accidents on some rugs. At night, Charlie is corralled into his puppy pen where he has his safe space (his crate) and all the chew toys he needs to alleviate his anxiety through the night. For the most part he does not make noise while in his pen, but does start to bark in the morning when you get up and have not opened his pen up yet - like we said, he loves to be part of the action! Due to the inability to easily grab Charlie, at this point he is strictly an indoor dog. He loves to sit at the glass door and watch his foster siblings play in the yard, and has even attempted to make the brave journey outside, but hasn’t had the confidence to get past the front step. His foster home is providing him with a safe and secure yard to explore when he decides he is ready. While Charlie is still not able to be handled or touched, it does not mean he has a poor quality of life. We think if you were to ask Charlie, he would say he has the best life ever. He has two meals a day, an anxiety treatment plan, and a house full of furry foster siblings to play with! Charlies forever family should be prepared for the long road of bonding required to make progress with Charlie. While it is mostly just living day to day life ignoring Charlie as he comes near you so that you do not spook him away, it is the most rewarding experience seeing him come closer and closer each day. If you are ready to commit to the journey of a lifetime, apply to adopt Charlie today!
