My story

Please Note: This dog is not at the shelter. This is a courtesy post to help find Jaxon a loving new home. Meet Jaxon! Jaxon is a sweet, well-mannered 12-year-old Maltese/Yorkie mix (also known as a 'Morkie') looking for a calm and caring home to enjoy his golden years. Though he was bred as a Morkie, he has the charming look of a mini Schnauzer and a gentle soul to match. Jaxon has been with his family his entire life, but due to a recent loss and frequent out-of-state travel, his owner can no longer provide the consistent care he deserves. This decision comes from a place of love and a deep desire to see Jaxon settled with someone who can give him the attention and companionship he's used to. Jaxon is: Neutered and up to date on vaccinations Potty trained Primarily an indoor companion Friendly with children Well-behaved and easygoing Allows people to take food and toys without issue He’s generally happy and social with visitors but can become nervous with large crowds. Since the passing of his primary companion, he tends to retreat quietly to a bedroom when too many people are around. A quiet home with a small household would likely be the best fit for this sensitive little guy. Jaxon has never been crate trained but is very well behaved around the home. He’s a loving companion who will make a gentle and loyal addition to the right home. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months).    All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control.
