My story

If you are seriously interested in an animal, we ask that you first fill out an application, tailsofrescue.org  This will be the first step to gaining more information about the animal as well as allow us to know a little bit about you.   Adoptions are closed until 8/18/25 as our coordinator is unavailable. You may still submit applications, and they will be reviewed starting Monday afternoon, 1/18. Thank you for understanding Meet Doogal Doogal is a handsome 30-pound Beagle mix with soulful eyes and a heart that’s slowly healing. Neutered and ready for a new beginning, Doogal came to us as a stray with a rough past—and the scars to prove it. Though they’re now hidden beneath his rich black and brown coat, his history of being picked on by other dogs has left him a bit guarded in canine company.   With people, Doogal is an absolute sweetheart—sensitive, gentle, and eager to connect. He’s doing well with both leash and house manners and is blossoming in his foster mom’s care.   Doogal doesn’t start trouble, but if another dog challenges him, he won’t back down. A quick correction and he settles just fine. Because of his past, a home with a limited-size pack—rather than a large group of dogs—would be ideal to help him continue gaining confidence.   He hasn’t been tested with cats or children yet, so we’re still learning more about those dynamics.   If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion with a survivor’s spirit and a heart ready to trust again, Doogal may be the one you’ve been waiting for.   Spayed/Neuiterd, micro chipped, heartworm negative (if of age), dhpp shots, kennel cough vacs., and one year rabies is completed.  Adoption fee is $250.00  We are NOT a first-come-first to adopt a rescue, the best fit for the family and dog is the way we do things.  We do out of town adoptions often, but will not ship animals must come to Redding for pick up.   ##2460813##
