My story

Coal finally made it into rescue after spending several weeks in the wild with his mom, dodging traffic and no telling what else! We have ended up with four puppies and their mom, saving them all from almost certain death. Coal and Birdie, his sister, came to us about 10 days after we initially rescued two of the other puppies. Shy at first, both have blossomed in rescue as they are getting a lot of hands-on time with their foster family and have quickly learned to trust.Coal is believed to be a terrier / dachshund mix. His legs are shorter than his mom's and two of his siblings. He has been determined to be the runt of the litter and we expect him to be fairly small when full grown. His mom weighs just under 20 pounds (we do not have any information on dad.)Coal is being crate trained, and is using a puppy pad at present. He is learning to go outside after his meals for potty time as well. All of these babies are amazing! It's fun to watch them march out the door as soon as they are done eating ... they look like little soldiers! All puppies are up to date on their shots, kennel cough vaccination, and have been wormed. They have more puppy shots ahead and will be sterililzed, microchipped and given their rabies shot when age appropriate and OOTW will work with the adoptive families to make all of this happen!
