My story

At 2 years old, Starling is a beautiful girl who’s come a long way since first arriving at the shelter. While the hustle and bustle of shelter life was overwhelming at first, she’s begun to settle in and is showing more of her affectionate, outgoing personality each day. Once she feels comfortable, Starling absolutely shines—she’s loving, gentle, and adores being close to her people. She warmed up right away with nuzzles and kisses and would much rather snuggle than worry about treats.Starling rides beautifully in the car (she just naps!), walks nicely on leash, and is happiest relaxing inside after a short stroll. She’s the perfect mix of sweet, calm, and affectionate, and she’s more than ready to trade in the stress of shelter life for a soft bed, kind humans, and a fresh start. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will shower you with love, Starling is your girl!Starling would love to meet any potential canine siblings! Our staff will carefully handle all dog-to-dog introductions at the shelter to ensure a great match. Feel free to bring your pup along when you come to meet her!Starling was able to go on a Dog Day Out recently and here is what they said, `We started our day with some chicken nuggets! She was calm and gentle taking them from my hubby. We then went to a park that has a walking trail to a stream. She DOVE into the water! She ran around in the water for a good bit. After her water play, we went on a long walk. Once we left the park (it was getting hot) we opted for indoor activities. So we headed to Lowe`s, where she got compliments and lovings from everyone there. She was confident, but cautious. Those automatic doors took her back for a second. Once gone from there we headed back to our house, with 15 acres to run-she did JUST THAT! She loved playing fetch and even threw her own ball to chase around. Once inside she was all snuggles. She is SUPER sweet and full of kisses. She can NOT hold her licker! Every person she interacted with got kisses. She seems house trained, respected the leash, loved car rides (after the initial trip getting in) and got compliments everywhere we went! She`s a GREAT dog! This sweet girl needs a family to love!`Starling is spayed, microchipped, up to date on her vaccinations, and ready for her forever home! Starling is living in a foster home.
