My story

How this pet arrived: Duchess was brought in by Humane Law Officer on July 6, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Duchess! Duchess isn't the kind of dog who's going to rush up to you with tail wags and sloppy kisses. She's more of a "watch from a distance, then maybe approach if you're not being weird" kind of vibe. Respect that, and you're already on her good side. She's got strong opinions about strangers (no thanks), busy households (too much), and loud environments (hard pass). What she does appreciate: calm people who know how to read the room-and her body language. Ideal setup? A chill home without a bunch of people coming and going. Older, respectful kids might be fine, but she's not here for high-energy chaos. Think: introvert energy, soft voices, and predictable routines. Duchess is the type who likes to make the first move. Give her space, don't crowd her, and let her come to you when she's ready. She may take her time, but once she's comfortable, you'll see her true, sweet side. Before you make it official all members of the household need to be present so Duchess can give everyone her personal stamp of approval. Don't forget a leash and collar-Duchess is ready for her new home.Shy/Fearful Dog: Duchess requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. Primary Color: Brindle Secondary Color: White Weight: 79.2 Age: 6yrs 1mths 0wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Duchess, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
